Bio:

Leonard Madrid is a New Mexican theatre artist. His plays have won the Kennedy Center’s award for Latinx playwrights three times. Most recently, his play Cebollas

premiered at the Denver Center for Performing Arts, and Prima’s Guide to Funeral” premiered at Creede Repertory Theatre.  He participated in the Ground Floor Summer Residency Lab at Berkeley Repertory Theatre with his play Las Arañas. In 2025, Bodalands was part of the New Comedy Festival at B Street Theatre in Sacramento, CA.

Leonard works as an Artistic Core member of Blackout Theatre of Albuquerque, where he has been a lighting designer, scenic designer, actor, playwright, dramaturge, and producer. He is currently an Associate Professor of Theatre at Eastern New Mexico University
